North Carolina State starter Reid Johnston had pitched into the seventh inning in all ten of his starts before Friday's Super Regional at Baum-Walker Stadium. It was a different story against No. 1 Arkansas.
Johnston was relieved after just three innings in the Wolfpack's 21-2 loss to the Razorbacks.
"We pulled him much earlier than normal," NC State coach Elliott Avent said after the game.
