TAMPA, Fla. — Add Sam Pittman to a small list of Arkansas coaches with Florida bowl victories.
With a 24-10 victory in the Outback Bowl, Pittman joined Frank Broyles (1960 Gator) and Lou Holtz (1978 Orange). Arkansas athletics director Hunter Yurachek didn’t take long to put that into perspective Saturday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium.
“Pretty good company,” Yurachek said.
It’s fair to add one more list for perspective, the most valuable players from the three games: Jim Mooty (1960), Roland Sales (1978) and KJ Jefferson on Saturday.
Jefferson’s performance was similar to what Mooty did to Georgia Tech and Sales to Oklahoma.
