Arthur Karuletwa will never forget the moment he realized his son had a chance to play college basketball.
It wasn’t on a court, but rather during a different kind of game. They were playing chess when, out of the blue, Jaden Karuletwa made the kind of statement you wouldn’t expect from a typical teenager.
“These chess pieces are all powerful in their own right,” a 13-year-old Jaden told his father. “They all do something different and they’re all uniquely powerful. I can’t see any piece here that I don’t need, but yet they all are just as important.
