OMAHA, Neb. — Everyone at Charles Schwab Field knew what was on the line Monday when Arkansas pitcher Gage Wood took the mound in the bottom of the ninth inning of the Razorbacks’ elimination game against Murray State.

No one wanted to speak about it.

That is, no one but 11-year-old Gage Goodwin, Arkansas’ bat boy and the son of director of operations Clay Goodwin. “G-Baby,” as the Razorbacks affectionately call him, was the first in the dugout to say it.

“He came back after the eighth and we went 1-2-3, whatever,” left fielder Charles Davalan said.
