HOT SPRINGS – If there’s one thing other than football that former Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman loves, it’s food.
A self-professed lover of barbecue and cold beer, Pittman once said his perfect day on the boat wouldn’t be complete without a $25 bucket from Popeyes.
Thus, it was only fitting that the lovable ol’ ball coach’s first public appearance since his firing from Arkansas would be to promote a cookbook. That shouldn’t be mistaken as poking fun at his weight. When you spend 40 years as a football coach, mostly in the South, food is the great uniter; a legitimate love language and a sin to turn down.
