FAYETTEVILLE – Saturday was not the first Bret Bielema publicly scolded his all-conference running back. Alex Collins had drawn his coach’s spleen more than a couple times in both their nearly three years together.
Collins had ran for 105 yards and a touchdown in Arkansas’ 54-46 win over Auburn on Saturday. It was his fifth 100-yard game of the season. It moved him to third in the Southeastern Conference in total rushing yards. Collins is, by any measure, one of the best running backs in the SEC.
But he isn’t what he could be, Bielema says. A pair of Collins fumbles against the Tigers came at pivotal moments in a four-overtime game.
