MEMPHIS — Another untimely turnover and sloppy tackling doomed Arkansas football to a devastating defeat again Saturday.
Memphis won the turnover battle 3-2 by forcing a game-clinching fumble from Mike Washington Jr. at its own 7 with 1:18 remaining to hold on for a 32-31 comeback victory before an announced crowd of 39,861 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
The Razorbacks had driven 68 yards and were in shape for a go-ahead score before the late fumble, forced and recovered by safety Chris Bracy, on a second-and-2 run by Washington at right guard. Arkansas also lost a fumble in the closing moments at the Ole Miss 24 in last week’s 41-35 loss to the Rebels.
