Texas Tech’s shiny new quarterback just signed a deal reportedly worth more in a single season than Shadeur Sanders’ entire four-year rookie contract in the NFL. Meanwhile, in Arkansas, quarterback KJ Jackson apparently signed a contract in the ballpark of $700,000 for what presumably will at least start off as a backup role in 2026.

No door seems unclosed. Last year, a former FCS star turned Razorback led the SEC in receiving yards. This year, a former Division II standout has looked like the second coming of Jalen Hurts while leading Ole Miss to what could eclipse an undefeated 1963 as the greatest season in program history.
