Cliff Harris set the standard at Ouachita Baptist University.
The 77-year-old starred for the Dallas Cowboys from 1970-79, earning two Super Bowl rings and five All-Pro selections along the way and finding a spot on the NFL’s All-Decade Team.
Although he grew up in Hot Springs, Harris was never offered by Frank Broyles and Arkansas. In fact, he had to scratch and claw to even get a scholarship at OBU. The 77-year-old is friends with Rex Nelson, an OBU alum and longtime Arkansas Democrat-Gazette sportswriter who still does play-by-play commentary for the Tigers.
