Stop Being a Homer and See Root’s All-SEC Selection over LSU Stud for What It Really Is

Wehiwa Aloy’s selection as the SEC Player of the Year highlighted Arkansas’ five All-SEC selections announced Monday by the league’s coaches.

The shortstop asserted himself as the best player in the conference by hitting .358 with 18 home runs and 58 RBIs while also playing exceptional defense at a premium position.

“You have to be good to play there and then he put up these numbers,” Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn said Saturday. “I mean, to me, it’s an MVP type 30 games and season.”

It is just the second time Arkansas has produced the SEC Player of the Year since joining the league in 1992.
