Still in Omaha: Wehiwa Aloy looks to become Arkansas baseball's 3rd winner of Golden Spikes Award

FAYETTEVILLE — Three days after a season-ending loss to LSU there, Arkansas baseball shortstop Wehiwa Aloy will be back at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha on Saturday.

Finalists Aloy, Florida State shortstop Alex Lodise and Tennessee pitcher Liam Doyle will be in attendance when USA Baseball presents the Golden Spikes Award prior to Game 1 of the national championship series between LSU and Coastal Carolina. The award presentation will be televised by ESPN beginning at 5 p.m.

Aloy is looking to become Arkansas’ third winner of the Golden Spikes in the last decade. Outfielder Andrew Benintendi won the award in 2015 and pitcher Kevin Kopps won in 2021.
