Tampering in college athletics is the worst-kept secret in the game. It’s so common now that some agents are openly admitting to it.
“I’ve actually been involved in the tampering,” Arkansas-based agent Chris Turnage said on the Dec. 31 edition of Drive Time Sports on 103.7 The Buzz. “Teams will call me for players that I represent, and talk through some scenarios and talk through schemes.”
That, mind you, was two days before the tranfer portal officially opened on January 2. Since then, more than 4,000 student-athletes have officially entered. In reality, that number barely scratches the surface.
