FAYETTEVILLE— Running back Jordan Avinger, who officially visited Fayetteville in June, has committed to Arkansas.
Avinger, 6-2 and 225 pounds, of Orangeburg-Wilkinson (S.C.) had narrowed his list of schools to Arkansas, South Florida, Liberty, East Carolina and James Madison before choosing the Hogs.
He recorded 48 carries for 671 yards, 9 receptions for 234 yards and a total of 11 touchdowns last year. He also had 54 tackles, 3 forced fumbles and 1 interception at linebacker.
Arkansas was the lone school to recruit him as a running back while others liked him as a linebacker.
Razorback offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino and lead recruiter and running backs coach Kolby Smith like his versatility.
