July sucks. The weather is hotter than the firecrackers blown up on the Fourth. Humidity keeps the morning dew on the grass until noon. And fans of college football get that itch. You know the one, the one that gets inside their heads and convinces them their favorite team is going to be better than it actually will be. Not a little better. Program-changing better.
Or maybe all that’s just Arkansas.
Most of the country sure isn’t seeing that from the Razorbacks. The projected order of finish for the Southeastern Conference comes out Friday, but it’s hard to imagine Arkansas tabbed any higher than 12th.
