It didn’t take long for new Arkansas football coach Ryan Silverfield to make an impression.
In less than 24 hours, he flipped four in-state recruits and began to change the opinions of many fans upset by his hire. Perhaps his most eye-opening impact, though, is what he has done behind the scenes.
Razorbacks athletics director Hunter Yurachek got a glimpse of his new coach’s fundraising savvy right out of the gate during the Arkansas basketball game against Louisville. Silverfield was in Bud Walton Arena to be introduced to the fans, but he also went to work in the Courtside Club — an exclusive hospitality area for premium ticket holders — building relationships with some of the program’s most influential supporters.
