The timing of SEC commissioner Greg Sankey's appearance at the Little Rock Touchdown Club on Tuesday was serendipitous.
Just three days prior, the Arkansas football team was flagged for 18 penalties for 193 yards in its 38-35 loss to Mississippi State. There were four penalties against the Bulldogs.
Sankey spoke on an array of topics during his Q&A with host David Bazzel, but one of the hottest was league officiating in the wake of the lopsided, whistle-heavy game.
Sankey said he typically looks at box scores from around the league when games end, as he is often traveling to different campuses to watch games, and he saw the penalty differential in the Arkansas game quickly.
