Saying Goodbye to “Dirty Thirty” at The Top of Seven Razorbacks’ Jersey Number Changes

Darren McFadden, or at least his No. 5 jersey, has been at the center of the biggest debate among Arkansas fans this week. Hunter Yurachek and Sam Pittman informed the legendary running back that whoever wears his number will also have a commemorative patch in his honor starting in the 2025 season.

Many fans took issue with the athletic department not retiring the number entirely, but the two-time Heisman Trophy runner-up loves the idea.

“A lot of people say the number should be retired, but I tell people it’s a way for my name to be able to live on,” McFadden said during an interview on the Chuck & Bo Show on Wednesday.
