A star at Arkansas from 2003-06 and first round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, Brewer had been the recruiting coordinator and an assistant coach under Musselman. Though endeared in the Natural State, the future for the son of Razorback great Ron Brewer hung in the balance.
The question only grew upon the hiring of John Calipari, who stunned the college basketball world by leaving Kentucky after 15 seasons to coach Arkansas.
