BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is doubtful for Saturday’s game against Arkansas due to an abdominal injury, according to multiple reports.
Nussmeier was listed on Friday’s updated player availability report as questionable, but multiple national outlets have since reported his status for the game is doubtful. He reportedly reinjured his abdomen during a practice this week.
Should Nussmeier not play, Michael Van Buren will be in line to earn his first start for LSU (5-4, 2-4 SEC).
Van Buren played for most of the second half in last week’s 20-9 loss at Alabama after Nussmeier was benched.
