Ole Miss starting quarterback Austin Simmons is expected to be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Arkansas, according to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, citing sources.
According to the report, Simmons will “be monitored in warm-ups and a decision will be made.” Thamel also reported that Ole Miss backup quarterback Trinidad Chambliss received an uptick in snaps during practices this week, and that Simmons spent time in a walking boot but his snaps increased in practice as the week progressed.
Ole Miss (2-0, 1-0 SEC) did not list Simmons on its SEC-mandated player availability reports Thursday and Friday nights, and had him listed as probable Wednesday.
