Report: Former Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino joining Bill Belichick at North Carolina

FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino has agreed to take on the same role at North Carolina under coach Bill Belichick, according to a report from On3 Monday morning.

Petrino, 64, spent the past two seasons as offensive coordinator for the Razorbacks, including serving as interim head coach for seven games after Sam Pittman was fired Sept. 28.

Belichick is entering his second season with the Tar Heels after going 4-8 (2-6 ACC) in his debut season at the college level. The six-time Super Bowl-winning NFL coach fired offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens at the end of the season after North Carolina ranked 119th in the FBS in scoring (19.
