FAYETTEVILLE — Danielle Gibson-Whorton has accepted an assistant coaching job with the California softball team, according to a report Monday from D1Softball.
Gibson-Whorton, a two-time All-America first baseman during her playing career at Arkansas from 2019-22, was an assistant coach for the Razorbacks the past two seasons. She helped with both the offense and defense.
According D1Softball’s report, she is expected to lead the day-to-day work with the Golden Bears’ offense.
Gibson-Whorton, a native of Murrieta, Calif., will be returning to her home state. She became a mother shortly before the 2025 season.
She returned to the diamond this summer to compete in the Athletes Unlimited Softball league and was a key player for the runner-up Bandits.
