For generations, fans had pondered what a football matchup between Arkansas and Arkansas State would look like.
In the end, it was hardly a contest.
The Razorbacks dominated from the opening kickoff in their 56-14 win over the Red Wolves on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in what could be their final show in the state capital. Arkansas scored 28 points in the first quarter, with everything that came after that simply being insurance.
There were few shaky areas for the Razorbacks (2-0) in what was largely a cut-and-dry performance Saturday. Arkansas State (1-1) could not deal with the Razorbacks’ athleticism and did not challenge their defense.
