FAYETTEVILLE — Texas Tech plans to start redshirt senior left-handed pitcher Patrick Monteverde against Arkansas on Saturday at the College Baseball Showdown.
The Razorbacks have announced they will start junior right hander Zebulon Vermillion for the game that is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
Monteverde (6-2, 190 pounds) is a transfer from Division-II Seton Hill in Pennsylvania, where he pitched sparingly the past two years. Monteverde missed most of the 2019 season after requiring Tommy John surgery and pitched 2 2/3 innings last year before the season was suspended due to the covid-19 outbreak.
