Junior running back Kody Walker had the overly cumbersome cast on his broken right hand shortened to a more manageable size just in time to make a big contribution on Saturday.
Coach Bret Bielema said he was reluctant to play Walker while he still had the big cast, described as boxing-glove size, for fear of poor ball security. Walker had been wearing the big cast since he suffered the injury against Toledo on Sept. 12.
Lead tailback Alex Collins rushed for 105 yards against Auburn, but because he had a couple of fumbles, both recovered by the Razorbacks, the Arkansas coaches decided to utilize Walker more in the overtime periods.
