Fans crave clarity during a coaching search. Administrators crave it. Boosters crave it. Yet clarity is almost always the first casualty once the carousel starts spinning.
The online noise does nothing to help to clear things up. Quite the opposite, actually. Every week somebody “in the know” claims Arkansas is just days away from announcing a big name as its next head coach. Some of these voices even have a track record. Take this one from Curry Hicks Sage, a Twitter frequenter who, despite living in New England, somehow nails Arkansas stories more often than most local insiders:
