Say what you want about former Independence Community College football coach Jason Brown, but there’s never a dull moment when he’s in front of a camera.
Brown’s abrasive and often crass coaching style made its way to the living rooms of TVs across America via Netflix’s “Last Chance U.” The show offered a Hard Knocks style behind-the-scenes look at rural JUCO football programs taking in student-athletes with checkered pasts. That premise predictably led to some heated moments that made for great television.
Brown has become quite popular among the edgier fans of the sport, with his Coach JB Show with Big Smitty garnering 86,000 followers.
