Tennessee ace Karlyn Pickers and Arkansas slugger Bri Ellis commanded headlines entering an SEC Tournament quarterfinal matchup Thursday featuring the conference’s favorites for pitcher and player of the year.
Raigan Kramer instead stole the show.
Kramer, a senior left fielder, crushed a seventh-inning grand slam off Pickens and the fifth-seeded Razorbacks took down the fourth-seeded Lady Volunteers 6-1 at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Ga.
The Razorbacks (40-11) advanced to face top-seeded Oklahoma in a semifinal game scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. Central on ESPN2.
“I’m just really proud of our team for finding a way today,” Arkansas coach Courtney Deifel said.
