FAYETTEVILLE – As I arose before dawn this past Saturday for what was about to be my umpteenth 11 a.m. kickoff (and preceding 4:45 a.m. call time for Razorback Marching Band rehearsal), you couldn’t have blamed myself or any of the Arkansas faithful for feeling some good omens in the cool air.
More than 75,000 loyal Hog fans striped out Razorback Stadium, despite their team’s mediocre start. The massacre that followed that defiantly hopeful morning scarcely bears repeating.
Watching yet another touchdown go on the board for the Holy Golden Domes in the closing seconds of the half, I said out loud what I imagine tens of thousands said in relative unison: “Oh, he’s so fired.
