FAYETTEVILLE — Linebacker Chris Paul Jr. was the team captain of a defense loaded with talent at Crisp County (Ga.) High School last season.
Paul, who is nicknamed “Pooh,” signed with the University of Arkansas. Safety Sirad Bryant signed with Georgia Tech, linebacker Preston Lavant with Pittsburgh and defensive end Nick Mercer with Georgia Southern.
“With all that talent, there’s still got to be a guy that everybody looks to as the leader,” said Brad Harber, Crisp County’s coach the previous four years. “That was Chris.
