Of course, most of Arkansas’ football history over the past 13 years has defined such anguish. Saturday’s 56-13 loss to Notre Dame was just it coming to a head.

Sam Pittman, at the time of writing this immediately following his team’s crushing at the hands of the Fighting Irish, remains the head coach. Arkansas football radio man David Bazzel stated almost two weeks ago that Pittman was ostensibly a lame duck and that it was just a matter of time before the university announced his departure.
