FAYETTEVILLE — Eric Musselman can still hear the speeches being given by his basketball coaches at the University of San Diego during his freshman year.
Most programs across the country were having similar discussions. They were necessary, and they drove home the point that conference play was on the horizon.
The message: understand the importance of every possession.
“Really, that’s what time frame we’re in right now,” Musselman said Tuesday. “Every possession is going to matter.”
As Arkansas gears up for its Southeastern Conference opener at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Auburn, Musselman is urging his roster to lock in for the grind of the 18-game schedule.
