No. 10 LSU hands No. 6 Arkansas softball largest loss since 2019 to even series

FAYETTEVILLE — LSU freshman left-hander Jayden Heavener quieted the Arkansas softball team’s bats, and the Tigers' offense provided plenty of run support Friday night at Bogle Park.

The 10th-ranked Tigers (39-13, 12-11 SEC) forced a series rubber match with a 13-2 victory over the sixth-ranked Razorbacks, powered by a 4-hit pitching performance from Heavener.

Game 3 of the series is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.

“I just was more so disappointed in who we were more so than the outcome,” Arkansas coach Courtney Deifel said. “If we put our hearts out there and we fight like we all have grown accustomed to and lost like that, I hate losing, but it'd be a little easier to swallow.
