Arkansas linebacker Phoenix Jackson is neither a bird nor immortal, but he’s had to rise from the figurative ashes on his way to Fayetteville.

First, there came the rise at Fresno State. The Modesto, Calif. native began his college football career in 2021 as a walk-on, but his efforts and persistence paid off entering his third season as a Bulldog when he earned a scholarship. After four years in Fresno, he transferred to Baylor in 2025.
