With John Calipari at the helm, being at least in the mix for the No. 1 overall player in each class should become commonplace for Arkansas basketball.
That appears to be the case with Tyran Stokes, the top-ranked recruit for 2026. A versatile 6-foot-7 forward, he has long been considered one of the best prospects in his class and there was even some speculation that he may reclassify in time to play college basketball next season.
Kansas, specifically, was hoping to pair him with five-star signee Darryn Peterson as it looks to rebuild from its first-round exit at the hands of the Razorbacks, but Stokes is now set to play his senior year at Notre Dame High in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
