Highly recruited big man Sam Funches received the first 2026 offer from Arkansas coach Eric Musselman on Thursday.
Funches, 6-10, 195 pounds, of Germantown High School in Madison, Miss., had 15 offers from Auburn, Missouri, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and others prior the Razorbacks offering.
He talked to Musselman in the afternoon and learned of the offer.
“I’m just surprised to get it so early,” Funches said. “I can’t remember exactly what he said, but he was just congratulating me and he gave me the offer. They’re a great defensive team.
