Memphis fans stormed the field after the Tigers stormed back to beat the Arkansas football team Saturday.
The Tigers rallied from 18 points down before halftime and won 32-31 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium with a wild sequence of events in the final minutes before a split crowd of 39,861.
Memphis (4-0) strengthened its case to become a playoff team and extended the nation’s longest win streak with its eighth consecutive victory.
Sutton Smith’s 62-yard touchdown run with 4:51 remaining put the Tigers ahead 32-31.
Arkansas appeared ready to answer the score in the closing minutes when running back Mike Washington fumbled and defender Chris Bracy recovered at the Memphis 9 with 1:18 to play.
