MEMPHIS — The Arkansas men’s basketball team was down.
The Razorbacks, in their exhibition against Memphis at FedEx Forum on Monday, trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half. The Tigers were more physical, their press was suffocating and they were hitting shots after a 2-of-7 start from the field.
It got to the point that Arkansas coach John Calipari, turning around to some courtside fans during a free throw while the Razorbacks trailed 38-30, had a simple message.
“We should be down 20. Just so you know,” he said.
But little by little, step by step, Arkansas got back into the game.
