Martin shows new results with old approach

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas shortstop Casey Martin looked like his old self Tuesday night at Baum-Walker Stadium.

Batting seventh, Martin went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI and scored a run in the Razorbacks’ 8-7 loss to Illinois State. Martin had an RBI double in the fourth inning and an RBI single in the fifth, and scored one of two Arkansas runs in the ninth when he singled with no outs and scored from third base on a wild pitch.

It was easily the best offensive performance of the season for Martin, who raised his batting average 81 points to .
