To this day, the 2018 College World Series finals haunt the nightmares of Arkansas baseball fans. Seven years later, the Razorbacks somehow found an even more disastrous way to lose in Omaha.
The No. 3 seed Diamond Hogs blew a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth inning and lost to No. 6 LSU in walk-off fashion.
Starting pitcher Landon Beidelschies gave the Hogs exactly what they needed, allowing only two earned runs in five innings before Gabe Gaeckle grinded out three innings in relief on short rest. Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn then handed the ball to true freshman reliever Cole Gibler to close the game out.
