Much like its diamond brethren in baseball, Arkansas softball is a member of the sport’s best overall conference.
Over the past 15 years, the SEC has shot up in stature in the overall college softball. For the first 25 years of the event, no team from the SEC even made the Women’s College World Series finals. Tennessee broke that barrier in 2007 and Alabama became the first team from the conference to win it all in 2012.
Now, with the addition of Oklahoma and Texas, the SEC is stronger than ever. The conference just set the record for the most teams to make a regional with 14 of the 15 teams advancing to postseason play.
