Speaking at the Little Rock Touchdown Club on Monday, Arkansas athletics director Hunter Yurachek for the first time publicly addressed Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ request for the Razorbacks to play an annual game against Arkansas State at War Memorial Stadium.
On Sept. 7, the day following Arkansas’ 56-14 win over Arkansas State in Little Rock, Sanders wrote trustees of both schools’ university systems in support for the game.
“As has been well documented over the past several days, Gov. Sanders has asked the leadership of both of those institutions to come together to see if there’s a way to continue that game at War Memorial Stadium,” Yurachek said, “and I can tell you that’s what’s happening on our campus.
