Lexi Weeks ups national pole vault mark

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas sophomore Lexi Weeks has taken the national pole vault lead from her twin sister.

Lexi Weeks cleared 15 feet, 1 inch Friday night at the Arkansas Qualifier meet at the Randal Tyson Track Center. She moved ahead of Tori Weeks, who is now second nationally at 14-10¼.

Lexi Weeks swept SEC and NCAA indoor and outdoor titles last year and competed for the U.S. at last summer’s Olympics.

Arkansas junior Taliyah Brooks won the 60-meter hurdles (8.20 seconds) and long jump (21-1½).

In men’s competition, former Razorback Omar McLeod, the Olympic champion in the 110-meter hurdles for Jamaica, won the 200 in 20.
