There’s a chance this column won’t age well. After all, it seems like Arkansas boosters might already have their hearts set on bringing Rhett Lashlee back to Fayetteville as Sam Pitman’s long-term successor.
It would be hard to argue with that choice. The Springdale native is Arkansas born and bred and is fresh off leading SMU to the College Football Playoff last year. Lashlee is young, has had previous success in the SEC and is familiar with Arkansas’ recruiting territory — all factors that seemingly make him a slam-dunk hire for the Hogs. Rumors also suggest Lashlee would be interested in an Arkansas homecoming if the UA brass is able to raise the pretty penny needed to acquire his services.
