FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas’ Kevin Kopps was named national pitcher of the month for April by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday.
Kopps, a right hander, pitched 9 times and allowed 2 runs in 22 1/3 innings in April. He struck out 42 batters, walked 5 and opponents hit .162 against him.
All of his April appearances came against SEC teams, including three appearances against Auburn and two appearances against Ole Miss and South Carolina.
