King: Jefferson, Briles could pair well

LITTLE ROCK — Resumes, research and a re-up encourage optimism about the production of sophomore quarterback KJ Jefferson in particular, and the Arkansas offense in general under first-year coordinator Kendal Briles.

The resumes belong to quarterbacks evaluated comparably to Jefferson coming out of high school, research involves run-pass production of Briles’ last four quarterbacks, and the final category recognizes the decision by running back Rakeem Boyd.

Jefferson’s size and his room for improvement are among reasons to believe he will prevail in the competition in Fayetteville. Listed at 6-foot-3, 228, he is bigger than senior-to-be Jack Lindsey at 6-2, 204, and redshirt sophomore John Stephen Jones at 5-11, 199.
