Kevin Trainor Answers Hard Questions about UA AD’s “Horrible Decision” without Flinching

Stories involving dating and a supervisor in the University of Arkansas’ athletic department come with a “Fragile: Handle with Care” label in Razorback Nation for good reason, but that didn’t stop a senior official in the department from having a little fun telling one anyway on Tuesday during SEC Media Days.

The year was 2004 and Kevin Trainor had been working in the UA athletic department in public relations since he had been a college student in the early 1990s when his boss’ wife passed away after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

For the first time in about 63 years, Frank Broyles was without Barbara Broyles, who’d been by his side through so many ups and downs as the Razorbacks’ football coach in the 1950s-1970s and as the Arkansas athletic director in the following decades.
