Jefferson moves on up to the field

FAYETTEVILLE -- The fans who stayed at Reynolds Razorback Stadium late Saturday afternoon let out a loud roar with 11:32 left in the fourth quarter.

Mississippi State led by 31 points at the time of what would become a 54-24 victory over the University of Arkansas, but the fans weren't focused on the scoreboard.

They were focused on the field and cheering for KJ Jefferson, a true freshman quarterback who made his long-awaited debut for the Razorbacks.

Jefferson kept the ball for a 21-yard run on his first snap as a college player. Two plays later, he passed to Treylon Burks for a 32-yard gain to the Bulldogs' 5.
