'It's a challenge': Depth creating good problem for No. 8 Arkansas softball

FAYETTEVILLE — Assembling the lineup has become one of the toughest jobs on the Arkansas softball staff.

It’s not because the Razorbacks are searching for answers. They may have too many.

Arkansas is batting .430 with a .519 on-base percentage, both ranking third nationally.

The Razorbacks have 13 players batting at least .345, showcasing the depth coach Courtney Deifel touted for weeks leading up to Opening Day.

There are more players deserving at-bats than there are spots in the starting lineup.

“It's tough,” Arkansas assistant Matt Meuchel said Tuesday. “I mean, it is.
