Sandi Morris binged the Netflix series “Vikings.”
The former Arkansas pole vaulter — who at 33 is a three-time World Championships silver medalist, two-time World Indoor champion and an Olympic medalist — had gone through a two-year lull.
Having first transitioned to professional competition in the summer of 2015, Morris wasn’t meeting her own expectations while dealing with problems behind the scenes. She had gone through coaching changes, moves from city to city and changes in training regiments. She missed the 2024 U.S. Olympic team by one spot, feeling “5-7% off” in the past two seasons and dropping out of the top three of the world rankings.
